The Arlene Harms Young Artists Competition, generously sponsored by George and Patricia Martin, celebrates the next generation of musical talent in our community. Presented annually by the Paradise Symphony Orchestra, the competition offers a stage for promising young musicians to showcase their artistry and passion for performance.
Open to both orchestral, keyboard, and vocal performers, the competition is divided into two categories: Junior Level Youth (through 8th grade) and High School Level Youth (grades 9–12). Contestants perform a concerto movement of their choice, and winners from each age group are selected for their skill, musicianship, and stage presence.
Each winning performer earns the opportunity to appear as a soloist with the Paradise Symphony Orchestra during the April 12, 2026 concert, bringing their concerto to life with a full symphonic accompaniment. Auditions will be held in early February at Paradise Adventist Academy (5699 Academy Drive, Paradise, CA).
