The Paradise Symphony Orchestra has musician openings as listed below.  Rehearsals are from 7- 9:00pm on Monday evenings at the Paradise Recreation and Parks District building at 6626 Skyway in Paradise.  The Season's rehearsals begin on the 2nd Monday in September and continue through the last concert in May.

  Young Artist Auditions    
     
 

Outstanding young musicians are invited to audition for the George & Patricia Martin "Young Artist Award."

Eligibility: Junior level - anyone of school age up to and including 8th grade; High School level - grades 9 through 12; or Collegiate level - all college years.  Residence requirement - currently attends school in Butte County or is a member of the Paradise Symphony.  The winner of these awards will perform with the Paradise Symphony at their May concert.

The Paradise Symphony Orchestra invites qualified musicians of all ages to apply for membership in our mentoring program. If accepted you will be assigned to an accomplished musician within the orchestra who will assist you in developing your musical skills while performing with the PSO.

We are currently taking applications for mentorship in the string sections of the orchestra.

Volunteer Opportunities
 
 
 
 

Paradise Symphony volunteers are dedicated to supporting the Orchestra and the Strings in Schools program.  Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, have fun and help the Symphony thrive! Volunteer positions are available in the areas listed below.

Please note:  More than one person usually works in each area; therefore, it is not necessary to have all of the skills to do every job in an area of interest.

Administrative Assistant:
Assist the President and other key board members with organizational and administrative duties. This person must be efficient and organized. Computer skills are helpful.  
 
 
 
Fundraising / Special Events:
Assist the Fundraising Chairperson with a variety of fundraising activities. Assist in organizing, decorating and preparing for fundraisers and other special events.  
 
 
 
Grant Writing:
Assist in the development and submission of grant proposals.  
 
 
 
Greeters:
Assist in creating a warm and inviting environment at various Orchestra and Strings in Schools functions and provide information to attendees regarding the event.  
 
 
 
Hospitality Helpers:
Help prepare dinner for the Orchestra on concert dates, assist the elderly or disabled who attend the concerts, decorate the lobby or provide transportation for someone to attend a symphony event.  
 
 
 
Librarian's Assistant:
Assist in organizing, copying, distributing, and collecting music for the Orchestra and/or Strings in Schools program.  
 
 
 
Manager's Assistant:
Assist the manager with various tasks involved in the management of the symphony; including, help with setting up prior to and following rehearsals and concerts, positioning and taking down signs and posters in the community, and a variety of other duties necessary to maintain and support the symphony.  
 
 
 
Office Support:
Organize and maintain files and/or music, assist with mailings, input computer data, assist with ticket sales and help with other clerical functions. Computer skills are not necessary to help in some areas of office support, such as: assistance with mailings, selling tickets and correspondence.  
 
 
 
Publicity:
Assist with the development and distribution of information regarding the Paradise Symphony and the Strings in Schools program. Development includes creating material to provide information to the community. Distribution includes delivery of information to local television and radio stations, distribution of posters to local businesses and organizations, the mailing of information, and the distribution and/or take-down of signs to community locations.  
 
 

 

   
 

 

 

  Shop & Support the Symphony!  
   
  Shop for groceries and the things you use everyday and support the Paradise Symphony!  
  Shop at Holiday Market using your Rewards Card.  Each time you reach 1,000 WOW points, you can redeem them for a $20 donation to the Strings in Schools program.  Ask for your Rewards Card at any Holiday Market Store.

  Shop at Target using your Red Card and designate that a percentage of the funds for your purchase be directed to the Paradise Symphony.
